WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? Reiki is a natural, non-invasive approach that takes the whole person into account including body, emotions, mind and spirit. Some of the many benefits of Reiki include relaxation, feelings of peace, security and well being and improved ability of the body to heal itself. WHAT CAN I EXPECT? The practitioner will have you lie comfortably on a treatment table, fully clothed and covered with a blanket for warmth. For the duration of the treatment the practitioner will place their hands either directly on you or a few inches above you in a variety of non-intrusive positions from head to feet. It is not a massage. You may experience a warming sensation or deep relaxation during the treatment. WHAT IS THE BASIS FOR REIKI? Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. During a Reiki session, the energy flows through the practitioner, restoring and balancing the natural life force energy of the client. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE? Receiving Reiki is a wonderful experience and can be described as feeling like a warm glowing radiance that flows through and around you.
